A stand alone pattern from our book Ultima Thule, the Kailyard Shawl contains motifs of Shetland’s rock walls, bees, blossoms, vines and waves. A circular shawl, in this case a pi shawl, is a fitting tribute to gardening, one of the simplest earthly pleasures.
This ambitious shawl is quite large and a pleasure to both work on and to wear.
Original shawl worked in North Pasture Alpaca (yarn packs available), this shawl would also be striking worked in Jamieson & Smith Shetland Supreme 1 ply, or Jamieson & Smith 2 ply Lace. (2300 yards approximately)
