In my last blog post I showed you the little yellow Maaema knit in Merino Lambswool Angora. One skein of Merino Lambswool Angora is just over half the yarn of the original Maaema Scarf that I designed and knit in silk. As I said, I thought it’d be interesting to see how the pattern knit up in a slightly heavier yarn and a smaller skein. Sometimes you want a long skinny scarf, sometimes you don’t – and yes the Mounds/Almond Joy jingle will be playing in my head for the next hour.
My Maaema in Yellow measured 36 inches/91centimeters at blocking. I’m crazy about it! Chris happened to have recently made me a small wooden shawl brooch and pin that go nicely with it.
We took a few photos this morning.
I wore it out to the new sunflower field to inspect the seedlings that are emerging.
Then I wandered over to the the garden gate and took in some sun.
Martha thought this was all quite interesting and followed along. While taking photos I always worry about sucking in my gut and whether my hair looks goofy. Martha has actually been in a movie so she knows more about holding a pose and looking natural than I will ever know.
Now and then she acts like she has something important to share.
This time she may have just wanted a stick to be thrown to her.
